GMAT FAQ

What GMAT score do I need for a top MBA program?

Top-10 MBA programs (HBS, Wharton, Booth) average 730–740. A score of 700+ is considered competitive; 760+ places you in the top 5% of test-takers.

How is the GMAT Focus different from the classic GMAT?

The Focus Edition removed Sentence Correction and Analytical Writing. It added the Data Insights section, which combines Data Sufficiency with new question types. It's also adaptive at the section level.

Can I bookmark and review questions during the GMAT?

Yes. The GMAT Focus Edition allows you to bookmark questions and return to them within a section, and to change up to 3 answers per section before submitting.

GRE vs. GMAT for MBA — which should I take?

Both are accepted by most programs. Choose based on your strengths: the GMAT Data Insights section rewards logical data analysis; the GRE Verbal rewards vocabulary. Take a diagnostic of each.

How does CollegeCountdown help with GMAT prep?
